Dream Team for the Future

Who would be in your starting XI if you needed to build a team that would last for a long time?

Formation: 4 3 3
If you want a team that plays an attractive, free-flowing game like Barcelona and Spain, 4 3 3 is the right formation.

GK: Hugo Lloris, 24
Joe Hart would have been my pick, but I need to see him making less game changing errors. Lloris is still only 24 and doesn't really have any flaws. He's strong defending crosses, commands the back well, and has great reflexes.

RB: Sergio Ramos, 24
Ramos has become a starter on both Real Madrid and Spain. At age 24, he still has four to six more years left at the top.

CB: David Luiz, 23
Luiz was brought to Chelsea this year and will probably be their starting CB for years to come. Luiz is fast, strong, and confident on the ball.

CB: Gerard Pique, 24
Pique is only 24 and is starting for both Barcelona and Spain. Although not the fastest he is tactically aware and his strength is unsurpassed.

LB: Gareth Bale, 21
Although Bale is now being used as a winger, he played as a left back earlier in his career. There were really not many options at this position as far as young players go.

CDM: Alex Song, 23
Song has been a shield in front of the sometimes suspect Arsenal defense and chips in with some timely goals.
*A little Arsenal fan bias

RCM: Cesc Fabregas, 23
As an Arsenal fan I like to deny that Fabregas will leave to Barcelona but it will happen. He will leave and take over Xavi's job in the heart of the Barcelona midfield.

LCM: Wesley Sneijder, 26
Sneijder is quick and is equally strong with both feet. He can score from nothing and from anywhere and dominated the Champions League with Inter Milan.

RW: Messi, 23
His name says enough.

ST: Wayne Rooney, 25
With great players around him Rooney is the best striker in the world. Imagine Rooney with Messi and Ronaldo on either side of him.

LW: Cristiano Ronaldo, 26
Same as Messi.
