Short People in the NFL

After watching games featuring NFL shorties Danny Woodhead and Drew Brees, I decided I was going to put together an All-Shorty NFL team. For shorties across America, here is your All-Shorty NFL team.

QB: Drew Brees, 5 11
Drew Brees looks much shorter than his listed height of 5 11. In his recent game against the Falcons, I remember reading a stat that said Drew Brees has thrown the most balls tipped at the line of any QB ever. Being a QB of his stature does have shortcomings.

RB: Maurice Jones-Drew, 5 7
Jones-Drew is a tiny 5 7, but try tackling someone that tall that weighs 208 pounds and runs a 4.5 40. He finds holes where they aren't, and never seems to go down.

RB: Danny Woodhead, 5 7
Woodhead gets bonus points for his name. Woodhead came out of little known division II college Chadron State, did not get drafted, got released by the Jets, and signed with the Patriots. Woodhead did not seem like he 5was going to get much playing time, but when Kevin Faulk went down with a season ending injury, Tom Brady's security blanket became Danny Woodhead. With his rugged playing style, Woodhead instantly endeared himself to all Patriot fans.

WR: Steve Smith, 5 9
At 5 9, Steve Smith was overlooked until the third round in his draft year. After being drafted Smith became Carolina's best receiver. Smith not only has the ability to play in the slot, he also has a knack for making great catches down field.

WR: Wes Welker, 5 9
Wes Welker has the most receptions in the NFL since the start of the 2007 season. Enough said.

Defense coming soon.
